How do I get started on Txt2Quit?

Sign up online or call Quitline on 0800 778 778.
Signing up for Txt2Quit is quick and easy.  All you need to do is fill in a few forms and your txt support will start within twenty four hours.  We’ll also send you a Txt2Quit pack, including a wallet guide, giving you everything you need to know to get started. 

What happens next?

After you’ve signed up, two things need to happen

  1. We’ll send you an email to verify your online account
  2. We’ll then send you a confirmation txt – you must reply YES for your txt support to start

How many messages do I get on Txt2Quit?

This depends on which day you’ve nominated as your Quit Day.

  • Before you quit
    Up to two messages per day to help you prepare
  • After you quit
    Three a day for the first month – the first four weeks are pretty tough, then three a week for the remaining 20 weeks of the programme.

Need extra support?

Txt 3111 anytime of the day or night for extra support when you need it

  • Crave – craving a smoke? TXT CRAVE to 3111.

As you know, cravings can be worse in certain situations.  With Txt2Quit, you can tailor the advice that you receive.

  • Crave alcohol - getting cravings when having a drink? TXT CRAVE ALCOHOL to 3111.
  • Crave bored - not doing much and getting cravings? TXT CRAVE BORED to 3111.
  • Crave stress - is it all getting a bit much when you’ve got a craving? TXT CRAVE STRESS to 3111.
  • Slip up - smoked a couple? Don’t stress about it. TXT SLIP UP to 3111.
  • Relapse - started smoking again? TXT RELAPSE to 3111 and we’ll get you started on another four weeks of messages to help you get back on track.
